Boat Zinc/Anode Replacement
Marine anodes, commonly known as zincs, safeguard vital submerged metal hardware against decay triggered by saltwater and electrolysis. These sacrificial layers are crafted to erode first, shielding the propeller, shaft, trim tabs, and fittings from structural damage.
- Helps prevent corrosion and electrolysis damage
- Protects props, shafts, trim tabs, and underwater hardware
- Avoids expensive repairs by replacing worn zincs early
Zincs are a small but essential part of protecting your boat. In saltwater, electrical currents can cause underwater metals to corrode quickly. Sacrificial zinc anodes help prevent expensive damage by attracting corrosion before it reaches your propeller, shaft, trim tabs, outdrive, and other critical components.
As zincs wear down, they become less effective. Replacing them before they are fully depleted helps keep your boat protected, extends the life of underwater equipment, and can prevent costly repairs. During service, we inspect your existing zincs and replace worn anodes with properly sized marine-grade zincs.
